Purificación Lisón

Purificación Lisón Párraga is an Associate Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and her research has been mainly developed at the Institute of Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP). She studied Agronomic Engineering and she obtained her PhD in Biotechnology in 2003 for her work on the molecular and biochemical characterization of a wound-induced plant proteinase inhibitor (Supervisors Dr Rodrigo and Prof Conejero). Then, she joined Professor Jonathan Jones’ lab (The Sainsbury Laboratory; Norwich, England), collaborating with Dr. Lionel Navarro in the study of the correlation between gibberellins and the plant defence response. After that stay, she continued her research at the IBMCP, being currently involved in the study of the viroid pathogenesis and the identification of metabolites which differentially accumulate upon biotic stress, and the study of its function in the plant defence response.
